Patterns everywhere

I get ideas for new illustrations and patterns from the strangest places sometimes.

Dress-vs-floor
Sometimes they're in my clothes, and sometimes it's just an interesting bathroom floor.  I'm sure you can guess which is which, but I think they're both very cool.  I can see at least three faces in the bottom picture...

Anthropologie display

Nice new display from our downtown Anthropologie store.  I really like the statues in the middle.

Happy weekend

Here's a fun picture to end the week.  I took this picture of a window in Barcelona back in 2004 and it's still one of my favorites.  Hope everyone out there has a very restful weekend.

Rocking ships under dome

Oh this so beats my little ship in a bottle thingy I just acquired.

RockingShips

From the seller's website:

Rocking Ships Under Dome by Phalibois of Paris. C.1890

This musical tableau is rare as the mechanism is stamped with the name of Phalibois.  The clockwork mechanism plays two tunes as the ships rise and fall and the sea moves under them. The dome and painting are original.

So neat!  Update: There's a video on their site.  This thing is massive, but I could totally find room for it.

Betsy Johnson's big pink loft

Oh hell yes.  Does Betsy Johnson's NY loft come with her super girly wardrobe?  I'm just asking.

Loft_2 Loft_3
I can look past the pink shag carpeting (carpet angels every morning!), but I'll keep the pink walls and the rest too.  I'm sure the boy would kick my ass all over town for the pink walls, but who said he's invited to the party?  Oh yes I just wrote that out loud.  A girl can dream for 15 minutes.  Pictures via Corcoran.  Crazy thought injected into my head via AT.
