Oh no she din't!

I know I said I was on a break, but I couldn't stay away after I saw this story.

Has the recession hit Anna Wintour?  Our cornerstone of style and glamour has been hit.  The horror!

Seattle style

I consider this person talented to be able to document these amazing photos of stylish people in Seattle.  Photos by Connie Sewer.

Couture on a Wednesday

Just a little couture from Lacroix to speed up the week and hopefully cheer up your Wednesday.  From his Spring 2008 collection (Spring: we missed you completely here in Seattle) via Style.com.  Photos by Marcio Madeira.  That name just sounds couture doesn't it?

Those ombre tights are so covetable.  Why can't the little people get some of that at the local department store?  I'm lucky if I can grab the last good pair of Hue tights at Macy's.  And these color combinations are so amazing.  The cute little hats that make them look like flowers coming down the runway?  Oh Mr. Lacroix really is an artist now, isn't he?

Is it Friday yet?  Where's my cocktail?

If we post it, they will build another one!

Disclaimer: I apologize in advance to anyone who is completely annoyed by the number of SATC posts.

Ok, for the fans, how gorgeous is Kim Cattrall?  I mean this woman should be given a medal or something.  And they gave Cynthia Nixon goddess hair!  These are from the July issue impulsively grabbed at Rite Aid on my lunch hour.  The covers kind of work like fashion plates for me.   Although, I do think it would have been nice if they would have included the plastic overlay part so that we could have a proper fashion playdate!

Bad girl shoes

My momma always told me if you want your feet to stay pretty, don't wear pointy toe shoes or high heels you can't walk more than 5 blocks in.

Bad-girls-shoes Observe!  From top to bottom - Valentino, Kelsey, and YSL.  Wear them if you dare!

Now, I've managed to stick to the above rule for most of my adult life until recently when I ventured outside my comfort zone and bought a pair of heels that I wouldn't normally wear.  Oh but they were worth it!  Frye t-strap heels to be exact.  I was so excited to wear them that I failed to recognize the fact that they were a bit on the slippery side.  I only noticed when I was trying them out in the shoe store.  I wasn't intimidated and promptly purchased them figuring that I could take them to my shoe guy to make them "safe".

Of course, not listening to my momma's wise words and my inner self telling me to be more patient, I promptly put them on the next day to work.  I mean you really are supposed to break them in so I thought better start now!  Let the countdown begin.

3 : It was raining that morning which only made my shoes look even shinier!  Excitement.
2 : I was carrying my huge blue leather bag that I adore and carry everywhere.  Balance issues.
1 : In my other hand, I was carrying a bag full of books I had promised to bring someone at work that day.  Careful...

I was proud that I made it halfway down the hall.  I even did a little hop to swipe my badge which I'm now convinced caused me to fall flat on my butt.  Did anyone see?  Quick, get up before anyone looks and snickers.  Butt check - oh god!  This was especially humiliating because I now had a huge wet mark on the back of my ass.  It happens to the best of us I guess.  Where's the freakin' wet floor sign when you need it?

Now what?  I'm now in fear of my heels that I was once so excited to purchase and stomp around in.  They even sit in a bag stuffed in my closet.  I can't even look at them they hurt me so bad.  I haven't broken up with them, I'm just not ready to go "there" yet.  I miss them horribly and have lately been sneaking a peek to say - hello!  I think it will be safe to say that I can try again...when it's not raining of course.

So I ask you, do you have a limit in heel size?  Do you have a closet full of "bad girl shoes" that never get worn because they're dangerous?  Or is it because the occasion just hasn't come up yet?  How far will you go in the name of fashion?  If a model falls on a runway due to her incredibly high heels, does she get slapped by the fashion designer who made her wear them?

If I were a rich girl...

I would probably go straight for Chloe for summer, spring, and fall.  Pre-fall 2008 shown here from the pages of Style.com.  I know it's kind of sacrilege to skip right over summer dresses, but the sun is definitely not shining here in Seattle right now so I proceeded to jump ahead.  Note: It's pouring rain outside tonight!

Chloe-pre-fall-'08 The boots are what started the obsession for these outfits.  I'm a sucker for accessories in colors this rich, especially when it comes to shoes!  Just look at them with the cute purple tights.  Ok, you can choose to ignore the heel for those of you that might be scared of heights, but if you can look past the heel and admire how absolutely adorable they are, then let's talk.  These photos remind me of Japanese girls out of a Fruits book which I'm a huge fan of.  I really love outfits that look like they've been thrown together effortlessly and are not too structured.  Otherwise, you might just end up looking like this.
