Banana Republic might just have my perfect jean, in the perfect wash and fit that I need for work. Here's the thing, I absolutely hate shopping for jeans, but since I've recently dropped a waist size, my saggy bottom jeans needed to be replaced. I was putting off the dreaded shopping trip for quite a while because it's the 3-way mirror, florescent lighting, pull the jeans up as strong as you can because they will stretch out to the perfect fit later, nightmare I did not want to face. They (the fashion world) want you to believe that you'll feel like Brooke Shields in the classic Calvin Klein pre-pubescent jeans ad.
Why do they tease us so? Most women have real bodies that include the following in no particular order: boobs, hips, thighs in various sizes, and the dreaded butt, bootay, buttocks, ass, whatever you want to call it. If you are ethnic, like myself, you have been blessed with all of the above. Congratulations!
p.s. I hate the way they styled "my" jeans in the photos. They make them look like the slutty summer West Side Story jean of '09!
